Hyderabad: A day after the School Education department directed private schools to submit their annual administration reports, along with audited statements of accounts certified by a Chartered Accountant (CA), the Telangana Recognised School Managements Association (TRSMA) on Sunday raised serious concerns over the confidentiality of their financial data.

Stating that audit reports contain confidential financial information, TRSMA president SN Reddy said that in recent times, certain information relating to private schools and students has reached unauthorised entities without consent.

“We request the government to conduct a thorough inquiry into this matter and take measures to safeguard the confidentiality and security of schools’ financial information,” he said.

School Education Director Dr. E Naveen Nicolas had instructed all RJDs and DEOs to initiate immediate steps to ensure that all private unaided schools submit their annual administration reports, along with audited statements of accounts certified by a CA for the academic years 2023-24 and 2024-25 by July 30.

Dr. Nicolas instructed officials concerned to issue show cause notices to the private unaided schools that fail to submit the annual administration reports by the deadline. He also instructed schools to display class-wise fee structure on the notice boards and websites.

The TRSMA said repeatedly asking schools to submit fee details and audit reports places an unnecessary administrative burden, especially when the required information has already been made available as per the prescribed norms.

The annual fee in affordable private schools ranges from Rs.15,000 to Rs. 50,000, the TRSMA said, adding that the schools have already displayed the fee structure on their notice boards and official websites.
