Karimnagar: TRS student wing and BJYM activists clashed with each other over the burning of the BJP State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar’s effigy in Karimnagar on Sunday.
TRSV workers led by district in-charge Ponnam Anil Kumar Goud tried to burn the effigy of Sanjay at Telangana Chowk, in protest against the latter’s objectionable comments on Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
While the TRSV activists were trying to burn the effigy, BJYM workers rushed to the spot and foiled the attempt. Enraged over the incident, TRSV workers attacked BJYM activists leading to a clash between the two groups.
In the melee, Two Town CI Laxmi Babu, who was trying to disperse the clashing groups, fell on the ground. Later, both the groups were arrested with the help of additional forces and shifted to police station.
