Hyderabad: A local court on Thursday sentenced a truck driver to two years of imprisonment for rash and negligent driving resulting in the death of a pedestrian at Choutuppal in 2012. The court also imposed a fine of Rs.5,000 on him.

The convicted person was B.Jangaiah (33), a resident of Choutuppal, who in March 2012, drove his truck rashly and hit T Yadaiah (45), who was crossing the road. Yadaiah died later in hospital.

Based on a complaint, the Choutuppal police booked a case and arrested Jangaiah.
