Truck kills GHMC worker, injures another in Medchal

The mishap occurred around 8am, when Dasharath from Pudur and Lakshmi from Medchal along with other workers were cleaning the road near SR Wines, when the unidentified truck, which was heading towards Medchal, ran over them.

Hyderabad: An outsourced worker with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, who was on duty at Medchal, died while his colleague was injured when a rashly driven truck hit them on Saturday morning.

The mishap occurred around 8am, when Dasharath from Pudur and Lakshmi from Medchal along with other workers were cleaning the road near SR Wines, when the unidentified truck, which was heading towards Medchal, ran over them.

According to the police, Dasharath suffered injuries on his head and died on the spot while Lakshmi was grievously hurt. Their colleagues rushed to their rescue and alerted the police.

The Medchal police booked a case and are making efforts to identify and nab the driver, who is absconding. The body was shifted to the Osmania General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
