Hyderabad: A cyclist died on the spot after a rashly driven truck mowed him down at Dulapally on the city outskirts here on Thursday morning.
The victim, Sundar Rao (58), a resident of Jeedimetla and working as a security guard, was proceeding to work on his bicycle when the mishap occurred.
Police said Rao on reaching near Dulapally Kaman was crossing the road when the truck hit him. He suffered grievous bleeding injuries and died on the spot.
The Jeedimetla police booked a case of negligence causing death and are investigating.
The body was shifted to the Gandhi Hospital morgue and handed over to his family later in the day. Efforts are on to identify and nab the absconding truck driver.
