Hyderabad: TRUFLO by Hindware, makers of plastic pipes and fittings, has begun manufacturing overhead water storage tanks near Patancheru in Telangana to cater to the Southern market, said TRUFLO Pipes Chief Executive Officer Rajesh Pajnoo.

The unit has a capacity of 45 lakh litre per month and will address the demand from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Northern Karnataka, parts of Maharashtra and surrounding regions.

“We have plans to double the capacity in about ten months to one year. Replacement market is one of the key drivers. Many are now looking to aging galvanised iron pipes in the plumbing systems. There is also fresh demand from the new residential and commercial projects, said Pajnoo.

The tanks, available from 500 to 5,000 litre capacity are subjected to an anti-bacterial treatment and come with a five-year warranty. The sector is expected to grow at 10 per cent over the next few years in India, he said.

On the impact of rising price of crude oil on the segment, he said the raw materials are getting costlier and the additional costs are being passed on to the customers.
