TS Budget growth-oriented, well balanced: Puvvada Ajay Kumar

He described the allocation of Rs 3,000 crore, which includes Rs 1,500 crore towards guarantees to the loans, to Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) as a historic event.

Khammam: Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar on Friday hailed the State Budget for the financial year 2021-22 as growth-oriented and well balanced with priority for all sectors.

He said allocation of Rs.16,931 crore for the irrigation sector with an increase of over 50 per cent in comparison to previous year’s allocation and Rs.25,000 crore for agriculture and allied sectors augurs well for the growth of agriculture and rural economy.


Speaking to the media here, Ajay Kumar said allocating Rs 1000 crore for the ‘CM Dalit Empowerment Scheme’ and an equal amount for MBC Corporation besides liberal allocations of funds for Aasara pensions and SC/STs have proved that Telangana was a welfare State. The Rs 29, 271 crore allocation for Panchayat Raj department would help in taking up large scale development works for village’s progress. Similarly, the allocation of Rs 600 crore for the Sita Rama Lift Irrigation Scheme will enable help evacuees and speed up left canal works.

Ajay Kumar thanked the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for allocating Rs 150 crore for Khammam Municipal Corporation and said it would speed up the development of the city on a massive scale.

Rs 3,000 crore allocation to TSRTC historic

He described the allocation of Rs 3,000 crore, which includes Rs 1,500 crore towards guarantees to the loans, to Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) as a historic event that marks both the development of the corporation and ensures the welfare of employees.

The State government has been lending a helping hand to the TSRTC from time to time aiming to revive the debt ridden corporation. “I thank the Chief Minister on behalf of the employees, officials and their families for the huge budgetary allocation”, Ajay Kumar said.

IT Minister to lay foundation for IT Hub-2 on March 27

IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao will lay the foundation for the second phase IT Hub in the city to be set up at a cost of Rs 36 crore, on March 27. He will also inaugurate newly constructed RTC bus stand near by-pass road and modernised Vaikunta Dhamam at Kalvoddu area in Khammam and lay the foundation stone for new building of Sathupally Municipality.

ZP Chairman L Kamalraj, MLC B Lakshminarayana, SUDA Chairman Bachu Vijay Kumar, DCC Bank Chairman K Nagabhushanam and TRS district party office in-charge Gundala Krishna were present.
