Hyderabad: The admissions web-counselling for Telangana State Law Common Entrance Test (TS LAWCET), Education Common Entrance Test (EdCET) and Integrated Common Entrance Test (ICET) is being planned from the end of November.

An admission schedule for the three CETs will be released once the State universities announce results of the final-year degree examinations of various conventional courses.

“The CETs admission process is linked to the final-year degree exams results which are yet to be announced by the universities in the State. As soon as results are declared, we will issue admission notifications for EdCET, LAWCET and ICET, and the process will commence from the end of this month,” said a senior official of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE).

The official said candidates who pass in the regular final-year degree exams can participate in the first phase web counselling. “Candidates of the advanced supplementary examinations will be given an opportunity to take part in the final phase web counselling,” he added.

In view of Covid-19 pandemic, the TSCHE is likely to adopt online certificate verification for these CETs and accordingly, software has been developed. Presently, physical certificate verification is held at designated centres for candidates who participate in the admission counselling.

This year, 29,861 (97.58 per cent) out of 30,600 candidates who had appeared for EdCET have qualified. In the ICET, 45,975 students attended and 41,506 qualified. Similarly, out of 15,398 candidates who appeared for LAWCET (three-year course), 78.60 per cent were declared qualified.

OU degree results

Meanwhile, Osmania University (OU) which has the highest number of students in the conventional courses intends to announce the results of the final-year degree exams in a week. Following this, the varsity will notify a schedule for the re-verification and later a time-table for advanced supplementary examinations. “The evaluation process for final-year degree examinations has already commenced and results will be released in a week. Candidates who fail in the regular examinations can appear for the advanced supplementary examinations which are being planned in January, 2021. Students who did not attend regular final-year degree exams due to Covid-19 can also appear for advanced supplementary exams,” a senior official from OU said.
