Hyderabad: A total of 65,219 engineering seats in convenor quota were up for grabs in 172 engineering colleges through the Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET) 2021 web counselling which commenced on Saturday.

This year, 91,607 seats including 65,219 convenor quota seats are available for admissions. Of the 172 engineering colleges, 15 are universities and its constituent colleges with a total of 3,645 convenor seats in them. All convenor quota seats will be filled through the web-based counselling of TS EAMCET 2021.


With the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad (JNTU-H) commencing operations of its new constituent college i.e., JNTU-H College of Engineering in Rajanna Siricilla district from this year, the number of seats in the universities and its constituent colleges has gone up from 3,152 from last year to 3,645 seats present.

The new college will be offering conventional courses like civil engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, electronics and communication engineering and textile technology.

“Some professors in the JNTU-H will be shifted to the new college in Rajanna-Siricilla district and contract staff will also be hired. We will provide hostel facilities to students in the new college,” a JNTU-H official said.

In the BPharmacy course, 4,550 seats including 3,210 convenor quota seats are available for admissions in 112 pharmacy colleges in the State. Likewise, there are 741 Pharm D seats including 520 convenor quota seats in 53 pharmacy colleges.

The last date for payment of processing fee and slot book for certificate verification has been extended up to September 13. After certificate verification, students can exercise their choice of web options for allotment of seats and colleges up to September 16.

Candidates have to exercise as many web options as possible so as to get allotment in a better college and course, Commissioner of Technical Education and TS EAMCET admissions convener Navin Mittal said.
