Hyderabad: End-to-end planning and perfect execution had enabled the government complete irrigation and other key projects in the State, TRS MLC Akula Lalitha said here on Wednesday.

Participating in the debate on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address at the Telangana Legislative Council, she said the State government accorded top priority to the irrigation sector and completed many projects after amicably resolving inter-State water disputes.

Apart from meeting the requirements of the agriculture sector and supplying urea on time that helped farmers to carry out cultivation without any delay, she said greenery was also being increased extensively across the State through saplings plantation.

Listing out various development and welfare schemes of the State government, Lalitha said Dharani portal, an integrated land records management system, facilitated registration of agriculture lands by the people in a hassle-free manner.

Stating that the government was giving high priority to law and order in the State, Lalitha said the government had proposed a Regional Ring Road at a distance of 30 km from the Outer Ring Road to reduce traffic chaos in the city.

Another TRS MLC T Bhanu Prasad Rao said 60 per cent of the total paddy cultivated in the country was from Telangana State. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao instilled confidence among farmers by implementing various initiatives and schemes.

The Ministry of Jal Sakthi had aslo lauded the relentless efforts of the State government in achieving 100 per cent Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTC) in the State in record time.

The Telangana model is now being emulated in several States, he said.
