TS ICET: Over 7,630 MBA seats vacant after first phase of admission counselling

Hyderabad: A total of 7,636 seats in MBA and MCA courses remained vacant after the first phase of seats allotment through the Telangana State Integrated Common Entrance Test (TS ICET) 2021 admission counselling. Of the total vacant seats, 7,592 seats were in the MBA programme and 44 in MCA course.

Students who participated in the first phase of the TS ICET 2021 admission counselling were provisionally allocated seats on Sunday. While 51,316 candidates qualified in the entrance test for admissions into MBA and MCA programmes, 22,416 students got their certificates verified and 21,811 exercised web options for allotment of seats.

According to the details provided by the Technical Education department, out of 24,478 MBA seats available in 262 colleges including government, private universities and private colleges in the State 16,886 were allotted to students leaving 7,592 vacant.

Similarly, 2,323 MCA seats have been allotted out of 2,367 seats in 41 colleges across the State. This time, 28 colleges had 100 per cent seat allotments in the counselling.

The department said 485 candidates have secured provisional allotments under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) quota this year. Allotment of special category seats in respect of sports and NCC quota will be made in the final phase of counselling after receiving priorities from the authorities concerned.

Students who received provisional seat allotment should self-report online on the website https://tsicet.nic.in/ and pay tuition fee on or before November 18. The provisional seat allotment order automatically stands cancelled, if students fail to self-report online or pay tuition fee on or before the deadline.

After payment of tuition fee, if a candidate wants to cancel the provisionally allotted seat online on or before November 18, a full tuition fee will be refunded. Further details on forfeiture of tuition fee have been placed on the website https://tsicet.nic.in/. Candidates have to report in person at the allotted college after the final phase of counselling between November 27 and 29.
