Hyderabad: Telugu language is one of the ancient and beautiful languages in the world. It is the only language in the eastern world that has every single word ending with a vowel sound. For this very reason, the language is hailed as the ‘Italian of the East’. To commemorate the birthday of poet Kaloji, ‘Telugu Bhasha Dinotsavam’ was celebrated at a special assembly by students of by DPS Nadergul recently.

Socialist activists such as Veerasalingam, Gurajada Apparao, Gidigu Ram Murthy, C Narayana Reddy are a few among the many socialist activists who contributed for the development and recognition of the language internationally. To convey the importance of such a prominent language, students participated in different activities taking the virtual platform of Cisco. A special assembly was steered with profuse information about the language, its origin and importance.


Enthusiastic language learners enthralled the audience with their beautiful renditions of various Telugu poems written by poets such as Kaloji. Monologues presented by passionate young students from classes VII and VIII received accolades from the audience. Students from high school engrossed the spectators through their commendable speeches diffusing the importance of the language and a message to inherit the passion towards the ‘Italian of the East’ by all.

School principal Padma Jyothi Turaga conveyed her wishes on the eve of ‘Telangana State Language Day’ and appreciated the participants and the Telugu department for conducting the event. Principal Padma Jyothi Turaga, vice-principal Kiran Khanna, head mistress Anindita Banerjee, and staff members were present.
