Hyderabad: Telangana State Cooperative Oil Seeds Growers Federation Limited (TS- Oilfed) launched its own packaged drinking water bottles under the brand name ‘Kinnera’. This is the second State-run packaged drinking water bottle supply after Mission Bhagiratha, which came up with its own pure drinking water bottles, particularly for government offices.

TS Oilfed chairman K Ramakrishna Reddy told Telangana Today on Thursday that one litre water bottle was priced at Rs 20 and a half litre bottle was Rs 10. Depending on the market feedback, 20 litre bottles and 250 ml bottles would also be launched, he said. The installed capacity of the bottling plant was 24,000 water bottles per shift of eight hours. “If there is good demand, the plant can be operated for three shifts. Water bottles will be distributed in the market through Vijaya oil distributors who are spread across the State,” he informed.

Initially, the focus will be on establishing the brand in Khammam and Kothagudem and then expand to other districts. “Towards this, stock points will be set up at RTC crossroads and Shivarampally in Hyderabad. The objective behind launching the packaged drinking water bottles was to make optimum use of water available in the borewells at Apparaopeta palm oil factory in Kothagudem district,” he added.

TS Oilfed has good dealership and distribution network of about 250 and is presently marketing Vijaya edible oil across the State. The federation has now added another product to its portfolio in the form of Kinnera packaged drinking water. TS Oilfed had made plans to launch Kinnera bottles during summer but had to shelve it due to the lockdown imposed in the State.
