TSDCA raids clinic run by quack in Warangal

Hyderabad: Drug inspectors of Telangana State Drugs Control Administration (TSDCA) raided a clinic in Urus Warangal from where a quack was conducting clinical practice without proper qualification.

Since January, 2024, the TSDCA has registered cases on 147 quacks, who are individuals with no MBBS degree but practicing allopathy.

During the raid, DCA officials detected 14 varieties of medicines, including antibiotics, steroids, analgesics, etc. stocked at the premises without a drug license and seized drugs worth Rs 10, 000.

DCA officials detected several antibiotics including Gentamycin and steroids including Dexamethasone at the quacks clinic. The DCA inspection teams have lifted the samples of drugs for analysis and further investigation will be carried out, and action will be taken as per the law against all the offenders.

Stocking drugs for sale without a drug license is punishable under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, with imprisonment for up to five years, GD, TSDCA, V B Kamalasan Reddy said.
