TSDCA seizes stocks of ‘Herbal Fever Guard Syrup’ in Adilabad for misleading claims

The stocks of the ‘Herbal Fever Guard Syrup’ were detected by DCA officials at a medical store in Adilabad. The syrup was manufactured and marketed by International Herbal Corporation Pvt.Ltd., Sidcul, Haridwar, Uttarakhand.

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Drug Control Administration (TSDCA) has seized stocks of ‘Herbal Fever Guard Syrup,’ an Ayurvedic medicine, that were circulating in the market with misleading claims on its labels that it treats all types of fevers.

The stocks of the ‘Herbal Fever Guard Syrup’ were detected by DCA officials at a medical store in Adilabad. The syrup was manufactured and marketed by International Herbal Corporation Pvt.Ltd., Sidcul, Haridwar, Uttarakhand.


Further investigation shall be carried out and action shall be taken as per the law against all the offenders. Persons who make misleading advertisements regarding drugs for treatment of certain diseases and disorders are punishable under Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954, DG, TSDCA, Shahnawaz Qasim said.

In a separate raid, the DCA teams on Wednesday, May 14, seized a clinic in Ahmedipur village, Gajwel, Siddipet district. The clinic was being operated by K Ramachandram, a quack who was practicing medicine without proper qualifications at his clinic. During the raid, the DCA officials detected 12 varieties of medicines, including antibiotics, analgesics, etc. worth Rs 20, 000 stocked at the clinic without a drug license.

The DCA officers lifted the samples for analysis and further investigation will be carried out, and action will be taken as per the law against all the offenders.
