Hyderabad: Continuing the success streak of State-wide Intinta Innovator Campaign, Telangana State Innovation Cell (TSIC) under the ITE&C Department is hosting a State-level ‘Online Exhibition for Assistive Technology (AT)’ as part of its forthcoming Assistive Technology Summit 2020, to recognise and showcase assistive and rehabilitative solutions for the elderly and people with disabilities (PWDs). Applications are invited from the innovators of the State including startups, students, and grassroot innovators in the field.
The proposed solutions by innovators and startups should be aimed at solving the real-life problems faced by PWDs and the elderly including but not limited to the areas— visual impairment, developmental and cognitive disabilities, locomotor disability, speech and hearing impairment, senior citizens. The selected innovations after the exhibition would be given support along the lines of idea-validation, networking support, mentorship, and market-connect.
The eligibility criteria of the applicants as followed— Individual or a Group with innovative solution, participants should be a domestic resident of Telangana or admitted in an educational institute established in Telangana and should have an innovative solution and a working prototype of their solution at the time of application.
Speaking of the exhibition and marking it as a building stone for a larger ecosystem, Ravi Narayan, Chief Innovation Officer, said, “TSIC has taken up the initiative of creating a robust assistive technology (AT) innovation ecosystem in Telangana. The first step is identifying and recognising the AT-focused innovators from the State through the online exhibition which will be followed by the AT Summit 2020. The primary outcome of these events is to bring important stakeholders in the AT sector onto a platform and enable collaborations to empower innovators. The summit also marks as the first major step in creating the first and largest social-innovation ecosystem in the country.”
