Hyderabad: Following complaints from commuters and passengers on collection of excess charges over MRP at various TSRTC bus terminals in the State, the senior staff from the department conducted a series of raids in bus stations at MGBS, Karimnagar, Suryapet, Nalgonda, JBS Secunderabad and Hanamkonda.
The senior TSRTC officials levied penalties on violators who were found charging amounts more than the prescribed prices, as per the instructions of TSRTC Managing Director VC Sajjanar. Penalties have been levied on shop keepers who were selling items with fake brands and selling products with different names and charging higher MRP rates.
Those who have any complaints and suggestions can inform the concerned Depot Managers so that necessary action can be taken at the earliest. The RTC authorities imposed a total fine of nearly Rs 52,000 in the above bus stations, the TSRTC MD said.
