Hyderabad: The barricades set up at Khairatabad for the Vinayaka Chaturthi festivities were removed on Tuesday, bringing a major relief to hundreds of commuters.
The move came a day after a report carried by the ‘Telangana Today’ highlighting that commuters in Khairatabad were facing hardship as police were yet to remove the barricades. This situation continues despite the completion of the Ganesh idol immersion on September 6.
The police installed barricades at the Khairatabad Ganesh idol to manage heavy crowds. However, after immersion, they were not immediately removed to facilitate the flow of traffic, with the delay causing traffic issues on the busy road stretch.
Commuters today expressed satisfaction with the police department’s response in removing the barricades, noting that traffic flow significantly improved since their removal.
