Hyderabad: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has decided to construct a third ghat road to the hill shrine from Railway Kodur in the Kadapa district. According to TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy, the existing trekking path from the Kadapa side, known as the Annamayya route, would be developed as the third ghat road to Tirumala.
At present, Alipiri and Srivari Mettu routes are being used by pedestrian pilgrims to reach Tirumala. Recently, the second ghat road suffered heavy damages due to landslides triggered by heavy rains at several places. To overcome such problems in the future, the TTD board decided to construct a third ghat road that would ease the traffic to Tirumala and also avoid accidents.
Besides, the TTD has also decided to allow Vaikunta or Uttara Dwara Darshanam for 10 days from January 13, 2022, to mark Vaikunta Ekadasi and proposed to increase issuance of darshan tickets from the New Year. Similar arrangements would be made at the temples in SC/ST/BC/fishermen colonies.
The TTD board, among other decisions, decided to declare Anjana Devi temple premises in the Aakasha Ganga area as Hanuman Janmasthalam and develop it for the sake of pilgrims.
