Adilabad: Members of Tudum Debba, a tribal rights organisation, thanked Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for announcing in Telangana Legislative Assembly that Lambada community from Maharashtra was plundering lands of tribals.
They performed ‘Ksheerabhisekam’ to a flex poster of Rao here on Monday.
Godam Ganesh, district president of the organisation said that the government had now recognised the movement they had been taking since five years, demanding deletion of Lambadas from the list of Scheduled Tribes for plundering educational opportunities and jobs reserved for Adivasis. He wanted the government to take steps to immediately remove the community from the list.
State general secretary Kodapa Nagesh, district vice president Kumra Shyam Rao, publicity secretary Vetti Manoj, treasurer Marapa Bharath, members Thodasam Manohar, Athram Bharthat, Chakahati Sunil, Sidam Purushottam, Jangala Pochanna, Kodimetha Pochanna, Govind, Gangadhar, Ganapathi, Santhabai, Maheshwari and many others were present.
