Ministers Tummala Nageswara Rao and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy at the Kottapalli paddy purchase centre in Nalgonda on Friday.
Nalgonda: In response to farmers’ complaints regarding moisture issues and fair average quality (FAQ) specifications affecting the procurement of paddy, Agriculture Minister and Nalgonda district incharge, Tummala Nageswara Rao, along with Minister for Roads and Buildings Komatireddy Venkat Reddy conducted a surprise inspection of the paddy procurement operations at the Kottapalli paddy purchase centre in Nalgonda mandal on Friday.
Farmers voiced concerns about the moisture content issues and FAQ specifications, which are impeding the procurement process. The Ministers interacted with the staff at the purchase center and gathered feedback from farmers regarding the arrivals, facilities provided, and payments made so far.
Farmers informed the ministers that the paddy arrivals are expected to continue until the end of December. They directed the Civil Supplies Corporation officials to ensure prompt payments for the paddy purchased from the farmers so that they will not fall back on the private traders.
