NIZAMABAD: Amidst tall claims by the State government, Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao and Congress MLA Bhupathi Reddy on Monday admitted failures in implementation of the crop loan waiver and disbursement of Rythu Bharosa.

The Congress government had announced that financial assistance under Rythu Bharosa would be disbursed before March 31. However, there was some delay and the assistance would shortly be extended to the farmers who had not got it, Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said at the Rythu Mahotsavam programme here on Monday. He also assured that compensation for the crop loss suffered by farmers due to unseasonal rains would be deposited into their accounts shortly.

On the other hand, Nizamabad Rural MLA Bhupathi Reddy said crop loans of many farmers were yet to be waived. Despite the loans being under Rs.2 lakh ceiling, many farmers were deprived off the benefits. Already, a list of all such farmers from the district has been submitted to the government, the Congress MLA said.

Interestingly, in sharp contrast to the Congress MLA and Agriculture Minister openly admitting about the failures, Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao claimed that despite financial constraints, the Revanth Reddy government was disbursing Rythu Bharosa in time and had waived crop loans of farmers.
