Twenty-two Maoists surrender to Odisha police

As many as 22 Maoists, including a divisional committee member and six area committee members, surrendered to the Odisha police along with firearms, ammunition and explosives. The surrendered cadres carried a collective reward of Rs 1.84 crore and were given interim relief

Kothagudem: As many as 22 Maoists, including one divisional committee member (DVCM), surrendered to the Odisha police on Tuesday.

Six area committee members (ACMs) were also among the surrendered Maoists. Nine firearms, including one AK-47 rifle, two INSAS rifles and others, were laid down before the police, besides 150 live rounds of ammunition of various calibres, nine magazines, 20 kg of explosives, 13 IEDs and other articles.


The surrendered cadres, along with weapons, carry a collective reward of Rs 1.84 crore. An interim relief of Rs 25,000 each has been handed over to them.
