Suryapet: Sleuths of Central Crime Station (CCS) on Tuesday arrested two persons and seized 120 kg of ganja worth Rs 2 lakh from their possession.
The arrested were identified as Jadav Ashok (30), native of GP thanda of Mamada mandal in Nirmal district and Boddeda Mallikarjun Rao (41), native of Anakapally in Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh.
Presenting the arrested before the media, CCS Circle Inspector Raghava Rao said they found 30 bags of ganja in a car driven by Jadav Ashok and another 24 bags in another car driven by Mallikarjun Rao during vehicle check near new bus stand.
During interrogation, the duo confessed that they had been smuggling ganja purchased from a person near Visakhapatnam, to Hyderabad. The two smugglers, however, were not operating jointly, he added.
