Two arrested in Hyderabad for illegal SIM card racket
Hyderabad CCS police arrested two men from Andhra Pradesh for illegally obtaining and selling SIM cards using customers’ personal details. Acting on a tip-off, police seized 139 SIM cards from the accused, who allegedly cheated customers to activate extra connections.

Hyderabad: Two persons who were cheating customers and illegally obtaining SIM cards were apprehended by the special team of the Hyderabad Central Crime Station.
The arrested persons are Nanevath Dinesh Kumar (22) and Parnapally Sai Pradeep (24), both natives of Cuddapah in Andhra Pradesh.
According to the police, Dinesh and Sai are SIM card distributors in Andhra Pradesh. “Whenever a customer visited their store to buy a SIM card, Dinesh and Sai Pradeep would con the customers and obtain their fingerprints and photographs. Afterwards, they would take an additional SIM card using the customer’s details. To make money, they would come to Hyderabad and sell the illegally obtained SIM cards to people at a higher price,” said the police.
On a tip-off, the special team caught them and seized 139 SIM cards from them.
