Two arrested in Hyderabad with 12 Remdesivir vials

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Task Force nabbed two persons, including a woman, on charges of illegally procuring Remdesivir and Methylprednisolone Sodium Succinate injections and selling them to customers, near Monda Market in Secunderabad on Friday. Police seized 12 Remdesivir injection vials and 40 Methylprednisolone Sodium Succinate vials, a car and other material from them.
The arrested persons were D Bhuvaneshwar Raju (37), a civil contractor from LB Nagar, and K Manasa (32), a private employee from Sanathnagar. According to the police, Remdesivir and Methylprednisolone Sodium Succinate injections were being widely used for the treatment of Covid patients. The drugs are in high demand now.
Following a tip off, the Task Force laid a trap and nabbed the two, who were selling these drugs at exorbitant prices, and seized the medicines from them. They were handed over to the Market police for further action.
