Hyderabad: The LB Nagar Police Special Operations Team along with the Abdullapurmet police arrested two drug peddlers and seized three litres of hashish oil and an auto-trolley, all together worth Rs 15 lakh here on Thursday.
The arrested persons were T Santhosh Kumar (35) and P Veerabhadra (28), both residents of Kukatpally. One suspect, Raju, a resident of Visakhapatnam, was absconding. Police said Santhosh Kumar was transporting fruits and vegetables between Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam in his auto trolley along with Veerabhadra for the last two years. He met Raju of Narsipatnam, who then began using him to transport the drug from Narsipatnam to Nizamabad and Tirupati by offering him money. Eventually, Santosh Kumar began bringing the drug to Hyderabad and sold it here. With the police intensifying surveillance on drug peddling gangs in the city, Santhosh started peddling hashish oil instead, an official said.
On Wednesday, the two went to Narsipatnam and purchased three litres of hashish oil from Raju for Rs 2.7 lakh and had reached the Outer Ring Road near Abdullapurmet on the way back when they were caught.
