Two arrested in Karimnagar burglary case; 25 tolas of gold, silver seized

Karimnagar: The district police busted a burglary gang and arrested two of its members, seizing 25 tolas of gold, 25 tolas of silver, a motorcycle, and a mobile phone from them, Commissioner of Police Gaush Alam told reporters on Friday.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Gajula Hemanth and Kommu Naveen Kumar, both residents of Konaraopet. Three of their accomplices are currently absconding.
According to the Commissioner, the arrests were made during a vehicle check at Gangadhara crossroads on Friday morning. Hemanth, who was heading towards Jagtial on a motorcycle, was stopped on suspicion. Upon questioning, he confessed to being involved in multiple burglaries. Based on the information provided by him, Naveen was also taken into custody.
Police said the gang had committed a burglary on June 8 at a house in Venkataiahpalli of Gangadhara mandal. They stole 33 tolas of gold ornaments worth Rs. 3.75 lakh, silver worth Rs. 12,500, and Rs. 25,000 in cash. A case was registered following a complaint from the house owner, Uppugandla Ganga Reddy. Further investigation is underway to trace the remaining absconding suspects.
