Thandur Inspector Babu Rao and Sub-Inspector Manasa hands over order of PD Act to accused spurious cotton seed traders on Friday
Mancherial: Two traders were booked under Preventive Detention Act and sent to the Central Prison in Cherlapalli for allegedly selling spurious cotton seeds in Thandur mandal. An order to this effect was issued by Ramagundam Commissioner of Police V Satyanarayana and Thandur Inspector K Babu Rao and Madaram Sub-Inspector M Mananasa handed over the order to the duo on Friday.
According to the order, the accused were Peddamalla Raju, a resident of Kandugula village in Huzurabad mandal in Karimnagar district and Shaik Abjad, a native of Peddapet village in Bheemini mandal. Three cases were registered against the two on charges of selling spurious cotton seeds in Thandur mandal.
The IPS officer warned that stringent action would be taken against those who sell fake seeds and herbicide glyphosate. He commended Bellampalli ACP Raheman, Thandur Inspector Babu Rao, Sub-Inspector Manasa and Komuraiah for invoking PD act against the traders and for clamping down the menace of the spurious seeds in Thandur mandal.
