Two burnt live as refrigerator explodes in Nirmal

Two persons were charred to death after a refrigerator explosion, suspected to be caused by a short circuit, triggered a fire at Mahalaxmiwada in Nirmal. Police launched a rescue operation and are investigating the incident

Nirmal: Two persons were charred to death after they were trapped in flames emanated when a refrigerator exploded due to suspected short-circuit at Mahalaxmiwada here on Saturday night.

Police said that one of the victims was identified as Odisela Vijay (50), a daily-wage earner from the town. Identity of the remaining victim was yet to be established.


Vijay and another person were burnt alive when flames emanated from the refrigerator. They were reportedly asleep at the time of the incident. Some of their neighbours alerted local police when they heard sound generated from the explosion. Police rushed to the spot and took up a rescue operation. Further details are awaited.
