Two children drown in swimming pool in Ameenpur

Two young girls, Pragna (9) and Advika (8), drowned in a swimming pool at a gated community in Ameenpur. The incident occurred when no one was monitoring the area. Police have registered a case and are investigating the matter

Sangareddy: Two young girls drowned in a swimming pool at a gated apartment community in Ameenpur on Sunday evening. The victims were identified as Pragna (9), daughter of S Shanmukh Kumar, and Advika Reddy (8), daughter of Vijay Reddy.

Both families were residents of the apartment complex. Police said the children entered the pool when no one was monitoring the area. Residents noticed them struggling in the water and rushed to rescue them. The girls were immediately taken to separate private hospitals.

Pragna succumbed around 11:30 pm on Sunday, while Advika passed away at about 2 am on Monday. Residents alleged that the apartment management had been negligent in maintaining safety at the swimming pool.

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
