Two-day long bird walk begins at Gollavagu in Mancherial
Forest officials say feedback from the participants would be gathered on the improvement of the conservation of birds and wild animals at the end of the event
Mancherial: A two-day long bird walk began at Gollavagu, an irrigation tank at Bheemaram mandal centre, in Chennur division on Saturday.
Chennur FRO Shiva Kumar said that around 20 nature lovers, birdwatchers and wildlife photographers from several parts of Telangana participated in the event by paying a fee of Rs 2,000 per head. He stated that elaborate arrangements were made for the smooth conduct of the walk.
He said that the participants would watch and take photographs of various bird species inhabiting the tank on Sunday.
The forest officials further said feedback from the participants would be gathered on the improvement of the conservation of birds and wild animals at the end of the event.
They informed that around 200 bird species were residing in the forests of Chennur division, indicating the rich avifaunal wealth of the region.
