Two dead after suspected drowning in Yamuna; rescue operation suspended

New Delhi: Two bodies have been recovered from the Yamuna in east Delhi’s Gandhi Nagar, where four people were feared drowned, officials said on Tuesday. The search operation has been suspended due to adverse weather conditions, they said. The incident was reported from near Madina Masjid on Zero Pusta Road on Monday evening. Police said they received a call about the incident at 7.20 pm on Monday and rushed a team to the spot.

The fire officials were also informed and two fire rescue teams were also rushed to the site. A search operation was launched immediately after the teams reached the spot.
