The incident occurred when the deceased persons were hit by a sand lorry coming from the opposite direction.

According to police, residents of Bittupalli, Dharmulla Rajamallu and Chiluveru Gattaiah were walking on the road in the outskirts of the village in the morning.

A lorry coming from the opposite direction hit them. As a result, a person died on the spot and another breathed his last while being shifted to Manthani hospital.

Enraged over the incident, villagers staged dharna at the accident spot demanding severe action against the illegal sand transporters and justice to the deceased.

Knowing about the incident, police visited the spot and began investigation by registering the case.
