Khammam: The podu farmers clashed with Forest Department officials at Regullapadu villages in Sathupalli mandal in the district on Thursday. Two women forest officers were injured in the incident.

The Forest officers were trying to prevent tribal farmers from engaging in podu farming in the village and this led to an altercation between the two groups. The injured were shifted to the hospital for treatment.


FRO Venkateshwarlu told media persons that a complaint was lodged at Sathupalli police station against the villagers who clashed with the forest staff.
