Hyderabad: Adding another strong title to its regional slate, Sony LIV is gearing up to stream its latest Telugu original series, Mayasabha: The Rise of the Titans, from August 7.
Set in the mid-1990s, the series is inspired by key moments in the political history of the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh. At its heart, Mayasabha follows two close friends who grow into powerful politicians on opposite sides, testing their bond as they navigate betrayals, shifting loyalties, and power struggles.
Aadhi Pinisetty stars as Kakarla Krishnama Naidu, while Chaitanya Rao Madadi plays MS Rami Reddy. Divya Dutta plays an important role as Iravati Basu. The series is created by Deva Katta, known for exploring realistic political themes, and co-directed by Kiran Jay Kumar.
In the teaser, the Chief Minister calls his MLAs to a hotel to expel a group of them, setting the tone for a tense political drama. Naidu and Reddy, though friends, must protect their own positions, even if it means clashing with mentors and family.
The show is produced by Vijay Krishna Lingamaneni and Sree Harsha under Hitmen & Proodos Productions LLP. It will stream in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam.
Sony LIV has found success this year with titles like The Waking of a Nation and The Hunt: The Rajiv Gandhi Assassination Case. With Mayasabha, the platform explores the hidden side of state politics, the backroom deals, friendships tested by ambition, and the personal cost of staying in power.
