Hyderabad: The Mirchowk police arrested two persons on charges of threatening and attempting to kill two traders on Friday. Police seized a scooter and a knife from them.
The arrested persons were Mohd Salman (32), an auto-rickshaw driver from Miralam Mandi and Mohd Abdul Mujeeb (21), a hotel worker from Dabeerpura. Salman was involved in 13 criminal cases including rape, attempt to murder and robbery, police said, adding that the two used to attack people, threaten them at knifepoint and rob them. They were arrested and jailed in the past. Salman was also detained under the Preventive Detention Act in 2020. After being released from jail, they did not mend their ways and continued committing offences.
Recently, they attacked two traders named Atul Singhania and G Hanumanth Rao. Based on their complaint, two cases were booked and the suspects were arrested.
