Two held for attempting to burgle SBI branch in Nirmal

On being interrogated, Mohsin and Irfan said they had gained entry into the bank by breaking open the windows

Nirmal: Two persons were arrested on the charges of attempting to steal cash from a State Bank of India branch in Mudhole mandal centre on Saturday.

Mudhole Inspector G Mallesh said Shaik Mohsin Ahmed and Mohammad Irfan, both from Mudhole mandal headquarters, were apprehended for trying to steal from the branch on September 13.

On being interrogated, Mohsin and Irfan said they had gained entry into the bank by breaking open the windows.

They revealed that they damaged CCTV cameras and an alarm but they could not find any cash and therefore fled the spot.

Police formed two special teams to detect the offenders. They scanned footage from CCTV cameras which were not affected and managed to nab the two.
