Kadapa: Two persons were arrested in connection with the huge blast in the limestone mine on Saturday at Mamillapalle in the district in which 10 labourers died.
Informing this to the media here on Monday, Kadapa district Superintendent of Police Anburajan, limestone mines owner Nageswara Reddy and a worker Raghunatha Reddy were arrested and a few more were likely to be taken into custody to inquire into the incident. The gelatin sticks exploded while they were being unloaded from a vehicle without taking any safety precautions, he revealed.
He said during the inquiry, it was found that about 1,000 gelatin sticks were transported from Pulivendula without permission and mining was also taken up without the required clearances.
