Hyderabad: The Golconda police caught two persons on charges of illegal possession of fake Indian currency late on Monday night.
The suspects, identified as Sudarshan and Dhanwant, were allegedly trying to pass off the currency as original notes.
Police said that following a tip-off, the duo was caught near the Seven Tombs bus-stop and several bundles of notes of Rs.500 and Rs.2,000 denominations were seized.
The value of the seized currency is yet to be estimated, officials said. Further investigation is on.
