Two held with marijuana worth Rs 18 lakh at Secunderabad railway station

Hyderabad: The Secunderabad Government Railway Police and the Railway Protection Force busted an interstate drug smuggling racket and arrested two transporters at Secunderabad railway station.
Police seized marijuana worth about Rs 18.18 lakh from them.
The arrested persons are Sudhanshu Kumar, a data engineer working in Pune, and Suman Kumar from Bihar.
Police said the duo was transporting the contraband from Sambalpur in Odisha to Wadi in Karnataka via Secunderabad. They were recruited by interstate drug peddlers from Maharashtra and promised Rs 10,000 per trip for transporting the narcotics. The suspects allegedly travelled on the Nagawali Express carrying ganja packed in trolley bags and backpacks.
The two had got down from the train at Charlapalli after noticing checks by railway police personnel and stayed at a lodge for two days before reaching Secunderabad railway station to continue their journey.
Following a tip-off, they were nabbed. Two alleged masterminds involved in the racket are absconding, and efforts are on to nab them.
