Two killed, 21 injured in separate accidents in Khammam
In an accident on the outskirts of Khammam, a 31-year-old man, J Pulla Rao and his brother's son J Mehanth (4) died while undergoing treatment for the grievous injuries they suffered in the accident
Khammam: Two persons, including a four-year-old boy, died and 21 persons suffered injuries in two separate road accidents in the district on Wednesday. In an accident on the outskirts of Khammam, a 31-year-old man, J Pulla Rao and his brother’s son J Mehanth (4) died while undergoing treatment for the grievous injuries they suffered in the accident. Pulla Rao’s sister-in-law J Sandhya was battling for life at a private hospital.
The incident occurred when the trio was going to the hospital on a two-wheeler as the kid was ill. A speeding lorry hit them on Khammam-Wyra road. Para-legal volunteer Annam Srinivas Rao and his team rushed to the spot and shifted them to the hospital.
In another incident, 21 passengers onboard a private bus suffered minor injuries when the bus overturned at Sitarampuram in Kusumanchi mandal in the district. Nearly 40 passengers were in the bus when the incident took place and they were returning from a marriage in Kamepalli mandal, police said.
