Two killed as speeding lorry rams scooter at Greenlands

Two people were killed after a speeding lorry hit their scooter near the Lifestyle building at Greenlands on Saturday night. One died on the spot and the other succumbed at the hospital. Police have launched an investigation.

HYDERABAD: Two persons including a doctor died in an accident involving a truck and a scooter Greenlands, Begumpet road on Sunday morning.

According to the police, the doctor Kasturi Jagadish Chandra (35), who worked at KIMS Hospital, stayed at Kundanbagh and is a native of Karimnagar. On Sunday morning, he booked a bike taxi driver M Naveen (30) a resident of JNTU Kukatpally to reach his workplace.


Around 5.30 am, when Naveen was going on the Greenlands road, a sand laden lorry hit the two wheeler from behind. Naveen and Jagadish fell down on the road and were run over by the lorry.

“While Naveen died on the spot, Jagadish suffered injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him dead,” said Panjagutta police.

The police took into custody the driver Shankar and seized the vehicle.

A case is registered.
