Mulugu: Two persons were killed as the car in which they were travelling overturned at Vengalaopur-Chintal cross road in SS Tadvai mandal in the district on Friday. Both the passengers died on the spot due to severe injuries to their heads.

The deceased were identified as Vemuluru Yugandhar (50) of Mulugu town, and Lingamurthy (48) of Keshapur village of Venkatapur mandal. They were returning home after visiting the Medaram Sammakka-Sarkka shrine in Tadvai mandal, when the accident took place. The cause for the accident is yet to be ascertained by the police who have registered a case and taken up the investigation.
