Karimnagar: Family members of two migrant labourers kidnapped by terrorists in Mali have sought the help of Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
Nallamasu Praveen Reddy from Bandasomaram in Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district and Kumarakula Ramachandra from Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh had migrated to Mali in search of employment and were working in a company named Ruby.
On November 23, the duo was kidnapped by members of a terrorist organisation called JNIM. Even after a fortnight, the whereabouts of Praveen Reddy and Ramachandra remain unknown, and the Mali government has not provided any information to their families.
Praveen Reddy’s father Jagaiah, along with Ramachandra’s colleagues and friends, met the Union Minister here on Monday and requested him to initiate efforts to rescue the abducted workers by coordinating with the Mali government.
Responding positively, Sanjay Kumar spoke to officials of the Ministry of External Affairs and advised them to take steps to secure the release of the labourers by engaging with the Mali government.
Interacting with the families, the Minister assured them that efforts would be made to bring their kin back through negotiations with Mali.
