Two Maoist couriers surrender to police in Kothagudem
They surrendered before Cherla CI Boddu Ashok and CRPF 141 Bn ‘A’ Coy DSP, Subhir Mandal at Cherla police station

Kothagudem: Two CPI (Maoist) village committee members of Kamalapuram village in Cherla mandal in the district surrendered to the police on Sunday.
They surrendered before Cherla CI Boddu Ashok and CRPF 141 Bn ‘A’ Coy DSP, Subhir Mandal at Cherla police station. The surrendered naxals were identified as Sodi Tirupati and Uke Venkatesh.
Being sympathisers of the Maoist party, they were serving as couriers to dalam members and as the village committee members for the past three years. They did not like to work for the Maoists and were inspired by the militia and village committee members, who surrendered to police and were living a peaceful life, the CI said.
