Speaking to media persons here on Monday, DSP, G Venkateshwara Babu said the militia members were arrested by police during patrolling on the outskirts of Chandrugonda village in the district. The arrested were identified as Hemlta Eithu of Terram village in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh State and Badise Chandu of Yerragunta in Edulla Bayyaram mandal of Kothagudem district, he said.
They were working as militia members for the CPI (Maoist) Party Jeegurukonda Area Committee. On the directions of the Area Committee commander, Uke Kailash they were transporting explosive material to attack the police forces, the DSP informed.
As many as 35 detonators, cordex wire weighing around eight kg, 50 pamphlets and revolutionary literature were recovered from, Venkateshwara Babu revealed.
