Kothagudem: Two sympathisers of CPI (Maoist) were arrested by police at R Kothagudem village in Cherla mandal in the district on Monday.
In a statement, Cherla police stated that the arrested persons were identified as Madakam Kesa and Karatam Srinu of Ramachandrapuram village of Cherla mandal. They were working as Maoist party village committee members for the past two years.
They were engaged in supplying essential commodities, organising meetings and keeping a watch on police movement. The duo was caught when they were taking uniform clothes and medicines to the Maoists, the police said.
