Two Maoist couriers arrested in Mulugu district

Police also seized a few gelatin sticks, detonators and revolutionary literature from the duo

Mulugu: Police have arrested two couriers of leaders of the outlawed CPI (Maoists) at Mullakatta bridge (Godavari River) in Eturnagaram mandal in the district on Tuesday.

The arrested were identified as Banddam Venu of Krishnapuram of Wazeedu mandal and   Aalam Ravi of Kalvapalli village of SS Tadwai mandal in the district, said ASP, Eturunagaram, Sharath Chandra Pawar. He said they were working as couriers for some time now. “The police have taken them into custody when they were moving suspiciously during a vehicle check at the bridge,” he said, adding that police also seized a few gelatin sticks, detonators and revolutionary literature from the duo. CI Kiran Kumar and SI Srikanth Reddy were present at the press meet.
