Sangareddy: In a tragic incident, two migrant workers died while cleaning a septic tank at a private apartment in Kollur in the early hours of Tuesday.
They reportedly inhaled some poisonous gases formed in the septic tank. The deceased were identified as Harish Singh (25) and Somit Ruidas (22).
The apartment management engaged these two migrant workers to empty the septic tank on Monday. However, they fell unconscious immediately after they got into it. Though other workers also attempted to get into the tank to save them, they could not reach the bottom as they found it difficult to breathe.
Later, Fire Department personnel were alerted, who retrieved the bodies.
It is seen as negligence on part of the apartment management as they forced the workers to get into the septic tank without any precautionary measures. The workers also lacked professional training. The Kollur police registered a case and launched probe.
